EHT board

There are two versions of the Barco HV board, the 761742 and the 761742.5. The difference is in the mounting configuration, and while the 761742.5 can be used to retrofit the older 761742 board, the 761742 cannot be used in place of the 761742.5. The mounting hole of the older board is offset from the new board, and forcing it into place will cause a flame show. I’ve done it..:)

On occasion, a shorted CRT can also cause the EHT light to come on. The light comes on due the shorted tube causing an over-current condition, and the HV shuts down.

You can usually determine if a tube is shorted by disconnecting the RED HV lead of the suspected tube out of the HV splitter. The remaining two tubes should then power up.  (Careful, 35 KV in this area!)
