Step 4:

Once the glass is removed, use a razor blade knife to scrape off the sealant from the glass and the tube. Careful on the tube housing to not scrape off lots of paint. This is a messy job and takes quite some time. It is important to remove all of it because the better you do here the less chance the tube will leak later.


Use household glass cleaner to remove any fungus deposits from the glass and inside the tube. If you have to scrape fungus crystals off the front of the CRT tube, you may use a razor blade but make sure to wet the tube surface first to avoid scratching it.
