Hey all , im subscribed to the British motoring video podcast and today i downloaded this clip onto my ipod .
On watching it , i freaked out .
Mark Blundell gets the opportunity to race the multi million $ Williams F1 simulator and guess what , no digitals .

I want to know how they provide connections to at least 4 wires with the top off steering wheel. I'm assuming it's a data stream, but you need power and at least two connections to that steering wheel for the data. Sweet!

Probably CRTs are used for the same reason the flight simulators use CRTs. Motion artifacts are bad with LED and LCoS. The resolution of moving objects is lower than CRT. There is also the time required to process through the projector. When a pixel arrives at the CRT projector input jack it takes only a few nano secs for light to hit the screen. With the digital projectors it takes many milli secs. There are still some benefits.
