Hello together,

I've got difficulties adjusting the Astigmatism for my CRT.
I found the article in the advanced procedures section but this doesn't help me, because the tubes are different
from the described.

I made some photos from the green tube with an extract from the tube replacement manual.

Can anybody tell me which ring/magnet is for which adjustment (PM Stigmator, 2-pole magnet) ?

Do the white rings have any function (or how should I use them) ?

Greetings
Pat

It almost looks like the shafts have been taken off? NOrmally missing shafts means a dummy set of rings that don't do anything.

What Curt said. Those little which clips with a "U" in them should have a knob sticking out of them. That is how you spin the rings with teeth in different directions (which is what causes the magnetic field to vary direction).

I've got lots of 4 pole spares. If your dots flare out evenly though, then you're fine, and you don' t need new astig magnets.

Thank you for the answers.

It seems that the knobs are missing. No one of the tubes does have such a knob.
However, if i adjust eg. "BA" then the flare moves its position.

So my problem is what is "2-Pole" and what is "PM Stigmator" and what the "2-pole magnet" ?

If I follow the instruction here: http://www.curtpalme.com/Astig.shtm

Quote:
....The pair of tabs/magnets closest to the CRT socket are called the 2 pole magnets and have the most affect on astigmatism. The second set closest to the lens are the 4 pole ones, and are more or less a fine tuning of the 2 pole ones. The 6 pole magnets on some projectors are an even finer tuning of astig....

So "BA" should be the 2 pole magnets. But is "4 pole" = "PM Stigmator" and/or do I have a 6 pole magnets for finer tuning ? Confused

Greetings
Pat
