hi,

Is there any other way to calculate the optimal distance between screen and projector.
This because a have a lc BD808s with HD117-24 lensens.

The barco lens program doesn't support such a combination.

thx

This is called the Throw distance.
its totally a function of the Lens.
use the Marquee calculation, it has this lens. however note that the calcs are only ballparks. there are far too many variables for them to be accurate.

e.g. your raster can be different widths on your tube face. this will translate into a much larger screen size variation.

The very very very best way is to not calculate but do!

Do a set up of just the green tube with optimized rasters (active image area about 5-6mm from tube edge). Then move the PJ back and forth till you get the correct width projected image. Measure the distance from the screen to PJ, then mount at that distance.

Doing anything else is just an approximation of where to mount it. Smile
