|
|
I had a customer email me saying that his V bow didn't work, the onscreen numbers ramped up and down, but the geometry didn't change. (I'm getting clarification from him whether it's the bow, or the top and bottom pin that's the problem).
I had him send me the convergence board/back heatsink, and it checked fine. I sent him back an 8500 non Ultra CLM, and he sent it back, since his CLM was an Ultra. (Also getting clarification as to whether he tried my CLM in his set).
His CLM works fine here.
I'm missing something. Where is the V bow/top/bottom pin circuitry located? On the focus board in an Ultra? That's about the only thing we haven't changed.

In the Ultra, top/bottom pin, top/bottom keystone, V-bow and V-skew are controlled from the focus/geometry board.

Sumbitch, that's what I figured. Thanks!

OK, this is my confusion showing.
The centerline that does not "bow" is vertical, but the label of the control is "H Bow."
The"V Bow" that controls the bending of the horizontal centerline does work.
Sorry guys.
Mark

On an Ultra board, you will see that the left half of the board is populated with components where as on a non-Ultra Focus board there are no components in this area.

Well, I sent the customer a new focus board, the problem remains. We've swapped the CLM, the backplane and hte focus board.
Motherboard issue maybe?

Hello Again!
We didn't actually swap the CLM because we don't have a spare Ultra CLM. (Mine is version 4.3)
I have tried a non-Ultra CLM (software version 3.4) and then a whole bunch of geometry options did not work.
Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark, something occurred to me: Can you use the green interpolated convergence to get around this?
Go into the convergence menu, down to the service mode, password 0901, then use 'interpolated' to make the geometry perfect.
