Guys,

I had my G70 torn down today to work on some fan mods (cutting out some of the fan grates)

Now I have the projector back together and while it is quieter the shaking image tells me something is wrong Embarassed

The picture seems to rapidly expand and contract vertically (2+ times a second)

What could be causing this, are there any connections that I should be sure to check again. When I did the fan mod I had to pull all of the cards out of the rear card cages.

The remote (builtin and wireless) also seem to be affected as I can't enter service control mode and some buttons work intermittently (arrow keys)

Any Idea's.

Thanks,

Erik Sad

Ok,

I've made a discovery, the (NA?) (error readout) board may be part of the problem. If this board is unplugged it will power up fine and run perfect, However unplugging this board will kill either the internal or external remote (it did both)

If the projector is running with the board unplugged and I plug it in while the projector is running it will function fine and will continue to work after restarting.

Does this sound like a bad/loose connection or could it be something larger (dying battery?)

Thanks,

Erik

Try re-seating the YB board. I had a similar problem and this fixed it.

Thanks for the advice grae,

I ended up reseating all of the cards and the problem has gone away. I think the root cause was the NA board not being well grounded to the chassis.

Now it is back up on the ceiling and I may have another problem as it looks like it is streaking and I have a dark band in my image, neither is really noticable and I'm going to let it sit for a few days and see if the problems go away.

Thanks,

Erik
