|
|
I just received an RCVDS 05 to use with my Barco 708 but I am not sure which type of serial cable that I need (Straight through or Null). I read somewhere that you have to be careful as the cable carries 30V and needs to be correct or it could damage both the switch and the projector.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have not looked at my 708 for some time (its' buried!) but does it even have a Periph 800 port?

Hi,
yes there is a projector connection port on the back alongside the serial in and outs, as far as I am aware this is used to connect to the RCVDS 05 so that the switch can communicate directly with the projector and give access to the addition adjustments i.e. contrast, brightness etc.

Hi, problem solved , I eventually got an answer from BARCO. The cable that is used is a normal Male to Female straight through serial cable.

I would not recommend using this. These are pretty noisy switchers. You might want to consider a better option.

I have a RCVDS05 and a HD Leeza. I found the leeza is noiser than the 05. though my receiver is noiser than both of them. just turn up the volume and drain it out.
Sort of like when you have funny noises coming from your car engine..turn up that radio.

video noise. They were really not designed for use in critical viewing.
