Just won the auctions on fleabay for the spare parts. I spent a bit more than I intended, but I like having an insurance policy without trying to find room for an entire 182 pound chassis. If anybody was needing any spare parts, well really the remote commander, let me know and I can probably help you out. I've got two or three of them lying around collecting dust.

Well I took my chances buying something from the Virgin Islands. All in all I'm pleased with the results. The tubes are exactly as he described. SWEET. Packaging was adequate but not optimal. I had to spend an hour picking pieces of styrofoam and shredded plastic out of the assemblies - that is a far shot from having to clean up bits of broken tubes. Very Happy

That would be the good news. The not so good?

Opened the box in front of the carrier so they could see the damage. Box was insured, but I filed a paypal claim as soon as I saw the damage and holes in the box which I'm sure let stuff fall out all the way from the Virgin Islands to my door. USPS wanted the original receipts from the sender, and from what I understand insurers usually have the person who purchased and signed for the insurance file the claim, regardless of who paid for the insurance. PayPal found in my favor and gave me a return authorization.

Seller seems to be an honest guy. He actually called me after I let him know what happened. He said he was selling the stuff on his account for a friend and that the friend was given plenty of packing material, but the boards arrived just tossed in the box. A couple had a piece of paper towel between them but that was all. He's a little pissed but hopefully he is pissed at his friend. That is where the blame lies.

So no remote to sell to those who PM'd me. Terry had a whole G70 he was parting out so I bought that instead. For whatever reason after I saw pictures of Curt's basement I have this need to buy up all the spare G70 parts I can......thanks Curt. I think he's using subliminal messaging y'all beware Evil or Very Mad

Now, anybody have any suggestions what to use and how to store these so I am not saddened by an accident someday???

Wow too bad on the boards, have you done an inventory to see what is missing, my best advice would be to not use any of the boards if you have the tested working spare machine from Terry coming.

I would store the boards in antistatic bags.

No doubt Zebu. Its already packed up and tomorrow is going back to the virgin Islands. PayPal says send it back we'll give your money back, I send it back. I've only had this happen one other time and that was for a PS2. The guy ( hpconcrete ) on ebay, listed it as new in box but when it showed up it had food stains on it, no original packaging, no power supply and the controller was all funky. The guy had the nerve to threaten me too said he was going to take a little trip to my house. I filed a police report and loaded the shotgun Same thing paypal said send it back and as soon as it arrived, the money was back in my account. I had the seller insure the boards for 1000.00 so he can get his money back from the postal service. Not my problem anymore (I hope - as I knock on wood)

I wonder if this was the same guy who sold me the "g70" tubes from the virgin islands. Same kinda packing job. The two tubes were butted against each other with no packing between them. He also had a g70 he was selling for $1000 on ebay. He listed it 3 times with no bites. Maybe he decided to part it out.... I wonder how many g70's there are in the virgin islands...

Nope. Different guy. This was capt.miker and he seems like a good guy. Terry said he'd thought the guy was a good guy too. And I want to make sure I point out That USPS totally wrecked the package. He says his buddy packed it, I'll take him at his word. The boards were obviously damaged during shipping. They got squished. And his description of the tubes was spot on. As of this moment I really do not have a bad thing to say about the guy. Crap happens after all. And as long as I'm made whole again I'll be happy. If he's made whole again will depend solely on how he deals with his end.
