I got a ps3 and a Toshiba -A30(too low of a price to pass up), the question is will the G-70 accept a 1080p signal thru component on the std input card? I was setting up the ps3 and when the 1080p signal was sent, nothing on the pj showed. 1080i and 720p look great, just want to do a compare of a 1080p signal on it. Thanks.

Neither one of those players will send 1080P over component.

If I remember correctly though, yes, the G70 will accept 1080P over component if you have a player that will do it.

It will be soft though..........

Some people like 1080p on an 8" PJ, but like Cliff said, most people find it to be soft. 1080i looks great. You should probably stick with that.

no it won't if your using a 4:3 screen and full raster. I just set up a Marquee 8500 the other night with 1080P from PS3 on a 4:3 screen and the scan lines were easilly visible, very distinct. The G70 might have a touch les bandwidth, but it's a sharper machine in stock form than an 8" Marquee.

Whatever the "book" says,...

The PS3 does not output 1080p over component.

It also doesn't allow for upconvertion of DVD over component.

(But on the bright side,.. The HDFury solves these problems in a great way and it's cheap and easy to buy from this site directly)

the G70 deserves better than the fury, it really NEADS a moome card. One on e-bay now from a local guy for $250.

The PS3 does NOT do 1080p via component. It will only enable 1080p with a HDCP enabled display.
