I am finally getting around to putting together my 8000.
I thought I had gathered up all the pieces when I managed to get a hold of some tubes and a new HDM.
But today when I went to put it together I discovered I was missing a plate that bolts onto the tube to attach it to the chassis.
The tubes I got look like this.

And the plate looks like this.

So I am missing at one plate and the allen head bolts that attach it to the tube.

That got me wondering if I might be missing something else that goes between the lens and the tubes.
Here are pictures of what it looks like with the tube bolted to the chassis.

Then I think the lens just bolts on to the front.
But am I missing some other critical pieces?

Thanks
Dave

Hello

The lenses bolt to the plates with the round opening; you should have some big springs in between the lens plate and the tube plate that are compressed some by the large allen bolts.

As a starting point, you want a 17mm air gap between the plates, all around, before starting schemipflug adjustments.

Thanks Tim,
So the square plates with the round holes are the lens plates and the one I am missing is a tube plate?
I do seem to have all the springs and large allen bolts to attach the plates together.
In my second last photo you can see the allen bolts and the big washer type things and I have the springs in between the two plates.

So does that seem to be all I am missing?
At least in this part of the projector.
Smile

p.s. I just noticed you gave me a starting point gap between the plates. Thanks

okay so it looks like I "probably" only need that one plate and bolts. (thanks tim and paul)

Does anyone know if I will cause any damage by firing up the projector with everything hooked up except the red tube and all it's electronics?

It will not fire up, you'll get H and V error messages. You need everything in place before the set will power up.

Well then that makes it easy. I have to get my hands on the parts first.
Thanks
