So I sold my PJ awhile back due to buying the house and remodeling. Here I am, three months later and I'm not even 25% done with what I estimated to be a six month project.
Still living on a mattress that rests on a bare concrete floor downstairs, while I tackle remodeling upstairs. The stupid master bathroom and all the wiring and planning and cutting and cleaning has been kicking my butt.
Still probably going with CRT again though, when I finally get around to finishing the downstairs where I'll setup my home theater. Been glancing over at the digitals on ebay once in awhile but I dunno. The AE700 I setup as a temporary projector just looks terrible compared to my old 9500. And it's reminded me that a lot of the flaws I used to get annoyed about on my 9500 are not Marquee related, but inherant to projectors (digital or analog) in general.
So I'm really not that excited by a ruby or RS1 or 2 right now.
Hope you're all having a good new year so far! This weekend I steam clean the vinyl siding outside and then get back to working on the master bathroom. I'm hoping to put one of these in it over the next few weeks (if it actually works).

I once lived in the basement while the house was being constructed. I was two and it's my earliest memory. No worries about home theater then - no such thing in 1951.

Eddie!! welcome back.
The house will never allow you to decide its priorities- if you plan to replace windows you will suddenly find that the roof is in URGENT need of replacement,if you paint the walls you will see how tired the flooring looks and if you knock out a wall, you will have friends and family that wonder why it is taking so long to finish...
I am about 3 and a half years into a reno that I thought I was generously budgeting 2 years for...(doing all the work myself) so I feel your pain.
Keep at it, and remember paint is cheap!
A good job estimator guide ( Means or National repair and renovation are two good books) will really open your eyes to the real time costs on jobs before you start. I personally am terrible for planning a "weekend project",then looking in the book-it turns out to be a 32 man hour job!
So, are you now wishing you had started with the Theater room first?
