I'm about to sell a projector to Europe, and the customer wants a scaler. Will the Focus Enhancements Quadscan do PAL?

Yes it will, I have used one in Australia which is PAL, I was not impressed with the performance of the quadscan though

I cannot remember exactly but I used to buy scalers from the US to resell in OZ I have handled Faroudja, Crystalimage, Taw, Deuce, Extron, but I found the Focus enhancements range the least impressive. A lot of people do not like the Taw but I found it was the most versatile of the lot with infinate adjustment, and I can use on all PAL settings with no problems, as a line doubler I found Faroudja the most picture dynamic. But like all things everybody has their own favourites, but as I was dealing in scalers and line doublers I had the opportunity to try them all

I Remember now, It did not like the 50hz pal signal and it could not be changed from 60hz US standard

i have also used one here in NZ. they are really smooth, but way soft, and their user interface is absolutely awful.
BUT, they do produce a much nicer image than the FE CSHD/CS1 line, imo. the later models, whilst much sharper with a better interface, fail to have the nice smooth film like look of the earlier ones...
