I know...it's not on topic, but I'll bet someone can help me out.
I have a brilliant Hitachi FX90 crt tv at my disposal, this was a very nice set and still is for that matter. I would love to make it work if it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.
The set seems to turn on..at least it clicks when I power it on. But there is nothing going to the screen.
I checked the fuse, and that's not the issue....I'm guessing Horizontal Output Transformer?
Anyone have any other thoughts or troubleshooting methods that I could try?
Ben

Do you hear the HV 'buzz' when you turn it on?

Probably not.
Almost all circuits in a CRT tv are related and share the same power lines. The horizontal output transistor powers the horizontal deflection, it powers the High-voltage circuit and sometimes generates the power for other circuits as well.
It is very common for this transistor (FET) or the power-FET in the SMPS to fail. Or the line-transformer(inlcluding cascade).
Find a servicemanual and start measuring.
