My VIM died for my Marquee, because curt is on vacation.

Anyone some tips on what to check first?

It's an 2035-03p version, think it's busted because of a bad connection with the mainboard while projecting.

@curt, send you an email about repairing

Check the solder joints on the mini RCA connectors.

I'm not on vacation. If you sent the email today, I'll check it now. If not, email me again as I'm up to date as of this AM answering emails.

If you haven't gotten an answer, please email me again. I'm completely up to date on emails from the last 3 weeks, working on older ones from that.

For those of us following along, what's it doing or not doing? Question

Hi Greg,

Replaced the fuses and the LM317t ic, then it worked again. For short however. The error led's disappeared but the marquee has still problems starting up. The HV comes up half (it crackles a little, while normally it sounds louder and longer)

I've been studying this problem, and I see where you've posted on it elsewhere. From that thread it looks like you had a problem before this VIM problem, but I can't fine the thread. I have a VIM coming to me for repair. I know that the 03 VIM is more likely damaged from flashing in the CRT's and other parts of the PJ from high voltage, but I've never looked more into what really causes this;

In the following thread you indicate that there was a problem before this problem. Can you post a link to that thread?

Bought a spare 8111+ and replaced the VIM.

First replaced the power supply's to see if the problem was there, but it was defenitly the VIM. I now have 2 03p VIM's so maybe I can measure them side by side to see the problem.
