I bought one of these Barco 800 Data Units from here a few years ago.. its been in a crate ever since.. long story.. Anyways it has low hours on the bulbs , but its huge
My question is this, it it worth designing a budget theater around this or buy a DLP projector or similar ?
If you think i should use this then would you suggest anything like line doublers ect.

Yes, use it. If it is low hours, then it's in good shape. Read this:

Then see if you want to go with the HDMI route or with a transcoder. I've got some decent scalers that I'll put in the for sale section in the next few days that will match nicely with the 800 if you are not going HD.
