Hey guys, question for you... I have a Sony 1270 and it keeps shutting off as it is warming up. Usually, it'll do it about 1 min into warm up and won't re-start for a couple of minutes. Then, it'll do it again 8 or 9 minutes in, this time not allowing re-start for 10-15 minutes. Third time is usually ok, but every once in a while it shuts off randomly during the movie.
Any ideas as to what may be causing the shutoff and what I might do to fix it? Thanks.

Check that all the large fans spin as they are supposed to.. beyond that the easiest thing to do is try to buy/borrow an L board out of a newer 12xx to get the error code.

I think Curt usually recommends pulling boards, cleaning contacts, and reassembling. These old projectors are nearing 15 years old...

Thanks for the input. I realize that the projector is getting old. But honestly, I'm CRT challenged. I wouldn't know how to pull the boards out without electrocuting myself or dropping the thing on my head. Any ideas as to where I might find a pro to do it? I live in Las Vegas.
