Hello,
I am new to this forum. Just found it. I have a Sony 1272. Love it. 2 weeks ago it would not power up. All I have is lights on the console. When I push the power button a red light lights up on the console. There is also a red light on on the back of the unit. I don't know much about troubleshooting these things. I removed the Power supply to look for anything burned, looked fine. My brother has the same projector and one for parts. He sent me the BC board from his parts machine because he said that is where the relays connect the power. Again we don't know enough about troubleshooting we were kind of guessing. Well the board arrived today. I plugged it in. It didn't work. It does the same thing. I've fallen into a deep depression caused by movie withdrawals. Please help.
Thanks Karl

When you push the power button, do the fans come on for a split second, or do they spin at all?

OK, I think it can only be the LVPS or the CPU boards. Shoot me an email to curtpalme@shaw.ca and I'll let you know how to send them in.
