I have seen several advertisements, I don't know how old they may be but... the following passage has been seen "The HD-AX1 can deliver 1080p interpolation when connected through the HDMI port".
Is there any truth to this?
See link -one of a few I have seen.---http://www.edealinfo.com/DailyDeals/071004.shtml (scan down to the HD-AX1).
Is it possible this was through a firmware upgrade/ Just curious of what the unit is capable of.

Hi, I have an XA1 with latest firmware and it can only output 720p/1080i via HDMI/Component
I'm not sure if the 1080p interpolation it is referring to is for upscaling SD-DVD?? I've never tried

My projector will only handle 1080i which is fine but I was just curious for future potential.

I have an XA1. I'm not aware of anything 1080p about it.
SC
EDIT - I just went and read that info you linked to. I don't know who pulled that out of their ass because there's no language that even vaguely resembles that in any of the official specs. They didn't even get the model right on that page - it's XA1, not AX1. Again, nothing 1080p about the XA1.

They are all misleading. Toshiba HD-XA1 is the 1st gen and cannot produce 1080p. I know and I have one.
