I’m having some weird issues with my Marquee. Tonight we turned it on to play some Xbox 360 and the colors were way off, turned out Green wasn’t displaying. I turned it off and on a couple times which has fixed this in the past and no luck. One time I power cycled it Blue stopped working too. I also tried it with the digital cable box as the source and there was no change. The weird thing is, when I pull up a Marquee menu, its green as can be, and when I go into convergence, all the colors are there just as they are supposed to be. I am running my source through a Crescendo RTC 2200 and am not seeing any error lights on either the projector or the Crescendo. What do the forum experts think is going on here?

Are you running everything throught the crescendo. If so take a working color and swap it with a non-working color on the VIM (swap the input BNC's)

I had an issue with colors dropping out on my Quee' and it turned out to be weak solder joints on the mini RCA connectors on the VIM. however this also caused the menu's to disappear so I doubt this is you problem

As soon as it dies, put the test patterns up and see if they do. I suspect they work, in which case you probably have a source/cable issue, or possibly something on the input stage of the VIM.

Curt, when I try to do a convergence all the colors are there just as they should be so yeah, it would seem to suggest either a source or cable issue. So far I have used 2 different sources, both run through my Crescendo. Next I will try running my laptop via the VGA-BNC cable straight to the projector, bypassing the Crescendo. I guess if its still a problem then it would rule out the Crescendo as well.

My guess would be the cable itself. Try reversing the red and green cables. We know the red works, see if the problem shifts colors as you switch RGB leads.

I switched the Red and Green BNC connectors around and the color did shift as you suggested, so this would point the finger at the cable right? However, I plugged the vga end of the cable straight into my laptop and the colors worked just as they should. It seems as though either the cable or the Crescendo is at fault. Hopefully not my VIM...

Curt, Kim was nice enough to replace my Crescendo RTC2200 for me for a 2nd time (same issue - blown green channel) but now he and I are wondering what my projector is doing to blow this channel. Kim has been extremely generous to me in replacing my Crescendo but I can't keep asking him to do that if for some strange reason I blow another green channel it. What could possibly be causing this to happen? Please help, I'm afraid to run my projector much until I get to the bottom of this.

I've never had a Barco projector cause source issues. Having said that, check for AC and DC offset voltages out of the BNC connectors. You should get 0.0 volts at the connectors between the center pin and ground.

What about static electricity? I've had a couple of the projectors blow input boards, but in this case it might backfire into the source.

Maybe isolate the Crescendo from the Barco with an Extron box?

Shocked Barco?

It is a Marquee Wink

DOH, happens when I don't read the beginning of the thread.

OK, I can't see the MArquee being at fault here. Default to my static electricity theory above.

So static electricity could have caused me to blow out 2 Green Crescendo channels in a row?
