Any got one? This came with the PJ I picked up the other day. It's stuck on S-video and won't respond to the front panel switches.

Ahhh bump, finaly got around to taking some picture's.
This has been sitting here since December and now I find I need it. Anyone got a remote that will work with one of these? Or the remote codes so I can make it work through RS-232?

Throw me a feaking bown here people.
This is stuck in S-video. Is there a way to rest this or should I be looking at RS-232 cable's again.
Anyone have the control software and also know what cable it takes?

Since Runco designed nothing, my guess is that it is a rebadged Faroudja DVP something or other. Label says 1999 so I would say start there and figure out what Faroudja made then and that should lead you to some manuals.

Ok after looking into Runco's back side ( dealer only )
I don't find a model 900.... There must be more to this than that... I'll keep looking and maybe send Runco an email and see what they say... Or maybe I'll call em.. LOL..
Anyways look and see if there is any other Identifying info on this..
Thanks,
MrBud

This came from the son of a Runco dealer. He was a salesman and didn't know much about it.

That dealer site obviously ain't that good
It'll be either a Super IDTV Runco IDP-900 (NEC PG 6000) or a Super IDTV IDP-900A (NEC PG 6100)
Both sets were also sold as bundles with line doublers.
Both of them were bundled with the SC-2050 scan converter though.
The IDP-800 (predecessor to the IDP-900) was bundles with a SC-1050.
All of these were introduced way before 1999

So, let's go on with the history lesson
On 1 Feb. 1999 Runco introduced the Super HDTV DTV-863:
Runco's new DTV-863 sets a new standard of picture quality for 7-inch CRT projectors. Packaged with an external video processor, which processes the signal at 2.5 times the normal NTSC scan rate of 15.7 kHz, the DTV-863 is more versatile, and produces superior images over earlier 7-inch tube projector designs. Digital video processing is a new technology that is far superior to traditional line-multiplying. This new all digital video processing results in more three-dimensional, crisper more detailed and resolved pictures than previous video processing techniques. The 863 also incorporates a new feature from Runco: Auto-Assisted convergence. The Auto-Assisted convergence feature greatly simplifies the convergence aspects of setup on the 863, making this projector the most user friendly in its class.
External Video Processor:
Video Inputs: Component, S-Video, and Composite
Power Input: 120 VAC, 60 Hz
Dimensions: Width: 17 in, Depth: 8 5/8 in, Height: 3 1/2 in
Included Accessories: Installation remote, Operator remote, 4m/16m remote cable, 3 meter AC line cord, Owner's Operating manual
Weight: 8 lbs.
Control Options: Front panel controls, contact closures
Included Accessories: AC line cord, Owner's Operating manual.
Optional Accessories: Rack mounting tabs

The DTV-863 scan converter does 800x600p (I assume at 59.94 Hz)
Maybe you want to check out the Remote codes in the Niles IntelliControl™
doc

Or any of the remote files here: http://www.runco.com/codes.html

Have you called Runco? Maybe they can supply a manual or at least a little tech support?

yeah, go to the Runco site I linked to (http://www.runco.com/codes.html) and ask if they have remote codes in a format that could help you. E.g. ccf

BTW, I just repaired one of those No remote needed, at least on mine. THe front buttons controlled everything.
The button to the left of the 'input' LEDs should scroll through the inputs. hold it down to see if it does.

Oh yeah I forgot to say....
This was a stores display model back in the day. They didn't want customers fiddling with it so they unplugged the internal cable from the front panel buttons so it would be locked on S-video.
I've used it a few times from an el cheapo DVD player via 480i component. The 800x600 output from this 2.5 doubler is great. Super sharp.
I was playing Sega Dreamcast through it for 15 hours one night too. It's a great performer.
