Hello,

I'm thinking of buying a Sony 1292 and a Crystalio VPS-2300 scaler.

Please can anyone advise me the best way to connect my Toshiba HD-XA2 to the 1292.
Would it be via the 2300 or direct into the projector by getting one of the Moome HDMI cards?

Also would the 2300 offer better scaling abilities than the Reon chip in the XA2 for SD definition.
If it doesn't would there be any need to get the scaler at all?
If it does I would probably get a seperate sd dvd player with sdi output and just use the XA2 for HD DVD's.

Thanks very much

Lance

At some point you will need an HDCP defeating card or box, so if a Moome HDMI card will fit your 1292, I'd go that route.

Although I understand the 2300 has very good scaling, the XA2 upscaling through its HDMI connector is supposed to be awesome and since you already own the XA2, you don't need the 2300 at all except for whatever non-dvd sources you have.
