Well today while I was trying to install my moome card into my vision one I ended up stripping one of the tiny screws that hold the metal plates that covers the open bay that it goes into. Does anyone have any ideas how to get the screw out??

thx
Jim

If you snapped the head then you will need an EZout as AR said

However if you only stripped the screw and didn't break off the head you should be able to grab it with a pair of vise-grips and pull it out.

I don't think you would get anywhere with an EZout if you really stripped the screw as it would just spin in the hole as you drilled and tried to EZout it out.

Beat me to it. Laughing The screw only needs to be raised enough to grab the next course of thread. You may even get lucky and still be able to use the screwhole. The screw obviously is trashed because it'll have a spot with no threads. Hopefully you won't have to drill and tap and put an oversized screw in. Lotsa metal filings. Thumbs Down

Hello

You want to determine if the threaded insert has separated from the sheet metal of the frame and is spinning with the screw stuck in it; the most you can do is hope to remove both

Pull on the plate while unscrewing. The plate will pull the screw towards you, helping it along out of the threads.
