Well, first you must have a motherboard that supports it. Changing that is too big of a job to make it worth while. I do, so I'm curious of the same thing.
One thing I heard is that the Ultra does nto support the Acon 1. it must use an Acon 2. is that true? If so I don't want the Ultra features because I'd have to scrap my Acon.

To go full ultra you need the motherboard, Control Module, Ultra focus Board, 50-2035-08P HDM, and preferably both power supplies or at least the Issue 3 HVPS.

I use it to get me 95% of the way there to convergence. Saves time.

Not to mention it's a great alternative to mind altering drugs. Watching Acon do it's thing is like a LSD high without the LSD

Tim has the parts you need in case you can't get them.
The list cost is around $2700 for all the parts.
I considered it from my Vision 1 until I found out for HT use, the ultra features are just not needed.
Kind regards

What are the board numbers for the mother, CLM and focus boards, along with the LVPS?

Hello
You also need the Ultra backplane as well as the top mother board.

Tim, how can we identify those boards? I can tell I have a top board because of the labels of the signals on the connectors. These labels are not on older boards.

In my opinion, there is no advantage to an Ultra over a non-Ultra 9500LC as far as home theater use is concerned. The extra
geometric control features are only useful if you're working with a very non-flat, non-rectangular screen.
I'd MUCH rather sink money into something that will actually give a better PICTURE. Like a surplus Teranex processor, or
a spare set of new tubes, or a set of HD-10F or HFQ900 lenses.
