Yes, it is my 100th post and I don't even own a CRT... yet.
I finally acheived WAF (very important), moved once (soon to move again) and just bought my first projector.
Curt's had a rough time recently with some tough customers and I will not be one of them.
On Thursday I finally ordered and paid for up front (what a novel idea) my first CRT. A NEC 9 PG+: "In great shape with point board installed. Near mint condition". I had to wait a whole year to save up for it (my original budget was $500), but based on all the wonderfull help I got here, I think I've picked out a winner and it's still cheaper than a 50 inch plasma and if I'm really lucky it'll be here for my birthday (4th)!
I'm just waiting for the e-mail saying it's on it's way and I can finally realize my dream of a true big screen AT MY HOUSE!
I'd really like to thank everyone who had advice and helped me with my search. You have all been extremely helpful and I'm sure I'll like the 8" EM set more than an entry level 7"ES set that I was originally going for.
I can't wait to post pics. Too bad I won't get to try my mirror idea.
Well, here's my cheap a$$ artists rendition (scale approximated!!!) of what I'm hoping for... And no, I'm not showing what it looks like right now. too tacky (blue carpet and yellow walls)! The screen will be a roll up that will sit on 2 pegs in front of the window (and no, the previous owner is not letting me keep those beautiful vintage 70's drapes), that way I can take it down and stand it up beside the fireplace.
More to follow!

Thanks! I did nothing at work all day and won't tomorrow either. I simply can't think of anything else. I'm on holidays from Thursday the 4th (pick up day) to the 15th, so I should find a few minutes to play with it.
It's about time I found out what all this fuss over owning a CRT is about!!!

Thanks again! It's going to be the best birthday ever I think! The only downside is I won't be able to fire it up until the next day, but it won't stop me from setting it up in my basement in preparation for a trial run. I can't wait for the call that it's in. I'm at work now using the lunch room computer and this is probably the hardest I'll work today.

Mr. Green - welcome aboard! By the way - I am on my 7th CRT projector, and the excitement of the next new trinket is every bit as much fun as the first. Enjoy it over and over and over.

It’s here! MWA-HAHAHA!
I just got it today. Took an extra day to get here, but all is good now. January 1995 manufacture. It’s not as big or as heavy as I thought. I can easily pick it up and carry it. It’s a little heavier than my plasma, but a lot less awkward. It’s like picking up an old 27” TV all by your self.
Now I Just need to wait 24hrs to acclimatize it before firing it up. Screenshots to follow!

Sweet, it showed, Id hoped it would!
If you can, flip the lid open and let it air out. Any moisture will evaporate faster... and if you're good and you want, fire it up tonight at about 10PM..

I know nothing of NEC's so I'm just poking in the dark

Sorry, meant to email you. The top case was replaced due to scratches, and the PG+ plate had a big scratch on it, so I gave you a nice Xtra plate for 'Xtra' bragging rights at no extra charge..
