Curt needs a CAPTCHA or more serious email verification for membership. This is getting kinda ridiculous.

We have a CATPCHA. In fact I changed the default one in the forum software for a much BETTER one about 8 months ago. Stopped the 5-10 fake signups/day that we used to get.
Email verification is also used. You must sign up with a valid email and then activate your membership by clicking on a link sent to you.
So these are humans signing up, not 'bots.
The only other thing to do require admin activation for new people signing up, but that not a good idea because:
(a) these are all 'valid' accounts until they start spamming. I'm not not going to activate someone just because their user name is something like 'cellphonedeals".
(b) that slows it down for legit users who now have to wait a day or so before being able to use their account.
(c) it's extra work for me.
Kal
P.S. A note to whomever erased the original SPAM post here (Barry or Curt): You can erase the whole thread by using the "X" button at the bottom left of the page.

I will Never erase a thread unless you want me to.
I really only wanted to stop Curt.....I mean, users from putting up Subject lines that have no relevance to the content of the thread.
