Hi Guys,

I saw this http://tinyurl.com/2yfg9j on Ebay today.

It looks like a P16 and it seems to be LC Smile

Is this a replacement tube for a G70 or somthing else.

Thanks,

Erik

The neck looks awfully short to be EM focusing. I think it's out of a consumer RP set, but I could be wrong.,

Thanks Curt,

Anyone else have a guess, label on the tube is P16LZG03HKA. I'm guessing it isn't for a G70 but who knows, I haven't taken my G70 apart enough to know what the tubes look like

The gun takes up most of the neck. I agree with Curt. I would say its def not for the G70. 'But I could be wrong' Doug

If my search is correct it is a green tube for a SONY KP57WS510 57-IN. HDTV 16:9 REAR PROJ. TV. Cost new is around $127.00. It is a current unit and scans at 1080i.

Speaking of tubes, I just had my first one ever break. I've mailed out a couple dozen over the last two years to places as far off as Hong Kong, but this time FedEx killed one going to California of all places. Sad

I had the seller mail the tube back to me so I could cross reference the serial number against what I mailed him to make sure he wasn't a scammer (I wasnt' familiar with his name) and just got it back today. It was the one I sent him, so I issued the full paypal refund a few minutes ago. Well, including one-way shipping only.

Nice job, huh----->

CZ,
How was this caused by shipping? Looks like spot burn to me. I dont know much about that chassis though and what connects can be left off to cause this. I have had necks break but not contaminate face phosphor. Bummer either way. Doug

I'm with Doug. Man, that looks like a crater burned into the faceplate because of no deflection.

Maybe he installed it in his unit after he got it and fried it because his projector has no deflection then said he got it that way to get a refund. ?????????? Sad

I think it could have been shipping damage; looks a lot like the tubes in the dropped 9500

Possible Question

CZ: Was the tube insured, Is Fedex going to pay up Question

Man, I still don't see how dropping could cause that even your pic Zebu Fellenz. Your's looks like spot burn also. How do you know for sure a drop caused it? Did you drop it and see it happen? I'm surprised.

Hmm, I've never seen spot burn that big before. If thats what it is, then I guess I'm screwed and the buyer is happy. Oh well. Or is that Oh hell. doh!

Sorry for the picture, it's not pretty Sad

Do you have a picture of the tube neck Question

Curt says he has had tubes damaged like that in shipping so the guy may be telling the truth

Hope it all works out Neutral

Guess that sudden loss of vacume must do something to the phosper face. Does look like the same as that dropped 9500.

I can easily see how this happens.. We all know there is a serious vacuum inside any CRT tube. The tube neck breaks, and air rushes in through the remaining neck, which acts almost like a shotgun barrel for any glass debris/etc. The debris are peppered against the phosphor face, causing the damage you see.

Also, if you look closely at the pics, you can see right through the glass on the tube face.. If the phosphor were there and burned, you wouldn't be able to see through it. I would think there would be a more defined pattern, instead of a random peppering that is seen in the pics.
