Hello again to all. Based on what I've been able to assess from information gathered here, a Marquee is never really "off" even when powered down as opposed to an ECP for instance. As such, is it indeed a good idea to "pull the plug" from the wall socket once you're done with viewing or does doing this pose some other problematic issue? I only ask because I am not certain as to whether the projector is actually subject to the most "punishment" during start-up like an automobile and that there may be some intrinsic value to just keep it supplied with juice. I hope that some expert can shed some insight on this matter. Thanx very much & Best Regards.

my understanding is that gear which is designed to stay on "a bit" after powering off (for remotes, or keeping bits warm or generalized support of the power corporations) should not be unplugged to keep it off as it was designed to stay on after powering off.

Some times they stay powered up so that when you turn it on,it comes on faster. Having some things powered up shortens the startup cycle.
I for one am glad my AmPro does not leave power on the tubes when it is off. I would think that leaving them on would lead to low emission over time even with white phosphors.

I do love my AmPro's

Not familiar with the ECP but if the filiment on the CRT is still lit power it off using the main power switch .

Well, Thanx Very Much for all of the reponses fellows, yet, there does not seem to be a general consensus to the issue; If there actually is no harm done to starting the projector from "cold" then is there some other inherent reason as to why the design engineers choose to feed the CRT's with power continuously?
