I have a G70 with Denon dvd player and Dwin Transcanner 1.
I have just finished setting up convergence, and now adjusting color and picture quality. The setting (ABG) mode changes brightness and such, and I am wondering what others have this mode set at and why?
I am also having a problem with high amounts of red during dark scenes. The matrix for example, looks very red in dark scenes, but just right in outside daylight scenes. I think this is a problem with my Transcanner but I am not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The ABG helps the G70 set the brightness/etc properly. You can run without it, but I understand the brightness is not quite as stable or reliable or ? if you do.
Sounds like you need a grayscale tuneup. BIAS sets the low-end levels, GAIN sets the high-end. Lower the red BIAS and see if that helps. You really need a colorimeter -- or at least a good eye and a good understanding of the color science -- to set the grayscale properly, but you can improve it with a bit of seat-of-the-pants tweaking.
