|
|
Hi,
Does anyone know anything about a SDI card for sony projectors. My new G70 has an input card labeled (component SDI) it is an IF-50 card manufactured in 1999.
Could this card be used to connect somthing like Gary's SDI OPPO direct to the projector.
Pictures coming soon
TIA,
Erik

SDI sources are only 480i, which IMHO wouldn't be watchable on a G70.

Instead of buying a SDI player to go with a SDI card, list it on ebay and apply the money towards a PS3 Blu-Ray or HDDVD player... that'll be 472% better than SD-SDI.

Clarence is correct ofcourse but I wonder if that thing could easily be updated with a new chipset to do
HD-SDI ?
That would be very cool!

Then you'd only need a HD-SDI source.

He was willing to do an SDI source before one would have to assume.
You can mod an HD-DVD player to do either.
not cheap but doable. Beats explaining do your guest that you are experiencing a "handshake" issue.

From what I understand about the raw output of an HDDVD player with HD SDI it would be at 24 hz. That would be unwatchable with a crt. If it were a high def signal from a high def sat. receiver you could possibly get a good clean signal??

You couldn't use that SDI IFB for a high def sat receiver. You'd need HD-SDI (and you'd need to mod the sat receiver for HD-SDI output).
What they're proposing above is using it in a switcher and feeding it standard def (480i), then routing the switcher to a video processor to upscale.
