|
|
I've been throuh this the first time I setup my PJ from scratch back in 99. Can't remember how I fixed it.
I go to installation. Do all the mechanical focusing, and raster centering, aim, etc. As soon as I pop out of the installation menu it goes back to the orginal uncentered settings.
I have a 720p signal coming into Port 3 thinking my adjustments are for that frequency/port (ie. registered in a block. I deleted all blocks thinking it was reverting to an existing one.
What's the magic trick here? What am I not knowing? (please limit answers to the subject line)

If you're going to use the internal pattern you need to do the setup using the genlocked test pattern. Sounds like you may be doing the setup using an input frequency that doesn't match the 720p signal...may be a basic suggestion but it's a thought...

yeah, I'm using a 720p signal from my video processor signal (also confirm the freq in the text box from the PJ and using the VE DVD.
I forgot about that link and it has given me some clues. (ie. I was selecting <external source> rather than <genlocked>. Let's see how it goes.
Thanks for the info.

Same thing. the text block show 44.9khz and 60hz from port 3. went to menu set to genlocked. back to installation menu, center rasters, complete the rest of the options and on last option the rasters go back to original location. Should I not be using <selected source> ?

I thought that subject was dead. You're wrong but I like the way you think. It just may become a viable option though IF I CAN'T GET THOSE FA-KING THINGS TO STAY PUT!.

Use random access or Guided menu and select genlocked...

Installation menu is where I shift (center) the rasters. I have tried going first to Random Access and selecting Genlocked but there is nothing in there that allows shifting of individual rasters.
If the Installation menu is useless, how else are you centering your rasters?
Out of curiosity is there another term for *ASTER before I launch another forum war. don't want to get banned

Crap this is not that hard (at least I don't remember this issue being this troublesome)!
Just bumping this one because I must be missing something very obvious and/or I am having hardware problems.
I set to genlocked. continue to use the installation guide but I don't think it is using the source input signal. My video processor connected to Port 3 is constantly sending a signal. I confirmed that it was 720p- 60
I have deleted all blocks, reset to mid, convergence off.
Seems the installation menu is not using the genlocked pattern.
Any other ideas to get me out of this? Why are the rasters reverting to original position.
I can't move forward until I can get my rasters centered.

Correct, the installation part does NOT use the genlocked signal, it defaults those to 50%. Generally speaking, the raster should not need shifting. The green is always at default anyways, and hte R and B rasters should be adjusted with the trimpots on the H shift and V boards.

Ok, Now I see why Ile thinks the menu is useless.
I assume the pots are accessible without adding and extension board? Anyone have a pic as to where these are specifically located?
BTW all rasters are not aligned on this PJ.

Guided and random access have raster centerings and those affect to memory block you are using.
In guided it's 3th step and again in convergence. Random access it's under convergence, adjusting center zone in convergence is same thing as adjusting raster centering...
Installation menu don't affect to any memory block, that's why it's pretty much useless. It's needed only when you don't have any source available when mechanically installing projector.
Adjusting those red/green pots is easy after you have done convergence ready. Then just chance red/green convergence center zones to 50/50 and adjust colors back from pots.
