|
|
I just unrolled my screen material purchased for my second DIY screen. It is 1.3 gain Cinema Vision from Da-lite. Looking over all the options it seemed the best choice for my CRT (1209s) and size. The only other option looked like Da-Mat, which only had a 1.0 gain.
However, looking at it, it looks extremely YELLOW compared to the last screen I made. I don't know what the last stuff I used was, but it was real screen material and much whiter.
Anyway, I almost hate to start stapling this on. I would almost rather use the back of it which is actually white. Is there any particular reason it is so yellow?
Thanks.

Well, I think I figured one thing out. When I flipped over the corner and saw how yellow it was compared to the white backside, I was sitting on the floor next to it as it was laid out flat. From that off-axis angle it appeared very yellow, but I noticed later when I was standing directly over it looking down that the color difference was much less pronounced. It still had an off-white tinge too it, but it wasn't as bad.

Well, I certainly not the best judge of color reproduction and the like, but I should be able to tell if it is hotspotting or rainbowing to badly. Unfortunately, I have run out of time and will be out of town for a few weeks, but I'll let you know when I get back.
