Been reading up on this lately and was wondering if anyone here has done one of these. Seems like a great way to get a bunch of the classic games I grew up with along with some of the newer ones like golden tee. I got an old p4 2ghz comp just sitting here I plan on using then buying an X-Arcade tankstick, a couple of the Act labs usb light guns and hopefully find a gutted arcade cabinet locally for cheap. Just curious if this sounds like a good setup and if I am in for a bunch of headaches trying to get it all to work?

Always wanted to build a MAME cocktail table ... my wife wouldn't let me. Smile

(Probably for the best as I basically just wanted to built it for fun and likely would only play the games 5-10 minutes tops). We just don't have room for one...

I've built several. Currently I have a full size stand-up, mini kids machine, and a cocktail. Friends all love playing the classics we grew up with. Only a couple of them have actually coughed up the cash for one.

Oh man, I would LOVE to build a cocktail table! That's awesome! I would play Ms. PacMan, Frogger, and Donkey Kong all the time. Dig-Dug, Qbert, Xevious... fun, fun, fun. Unfortunately, with the home theater and the basement finish, spending $700-1000 right now on a total toy for the basement probably isn't too realistic. Maybe in a year or two. It would be a riot when the kids get a little older, though to have the kids playing the same games we grew up playing.

Anybody seen this kit built-up? Doesn't seem badly priced, but it's nothing but the cabinet itself.

LOL. I have such an extensive collection of roms for various emulators that I'll never even get around to playing them all. But they are kick ass to have!

Have you tried the new Sega Model 2 Emulator yet? Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, House of the Dead, etc, all look sweet!

My full size stand-up machine is setup to play Mame, NES, N64, Sega, Gameboy, and a couple others. I have the roms for all the emulators, Some don't play well with my control panel.

Everybody likes them, I just don't have the time to get them set up properly.

To many irons in the fire.

Since the PJ's can sync on 15khz, they will display the DIRECT output of the real arcade machine CPU board. You could play the real thing.
I have MANY arcade machine boards on hand still. taking orders Wink
technically, you are not allowed to play the emulated one unless you own the original.
I do own the ones i want. Smile
