Here's an article on Soundproofing spaces.

It's pretty interesting. Theres this guy who wants to soundproof his house so he cant hear the ocean. If you go to all of the trouble and obscene expense of buying a house, on the beach, in the hamptons. Then spend more to silence the ocean???

Confused

Nah. usually guys w/ LOTS O' CASH go for the high end solution.
He's called a specialists and will spend thousands of additional dollars to solve a problem of his own creation.

You know for the most absolute quiet you can just drink a 40 of Absolute Vodka. You would be nice and quiet. Well except for the snoring.

And WTF! There's people living in shacks next to elevated train lines who buy the little gizmo's that produce peaceful ocean wave sounds so they can get the hell to sleep.
I have an idea...how about he runs up and down the damn beach in the Hahmp-tuns until he's tired enough to sleep through "all that racket!" Next he'll want the hull of his yahwt sound proofed to silence the waves slapping against the hull.
Some people have more money than brains. (Whereas I've achieved total harmony and balance..I'm lacking in both). Laughing

One of my long term projects is to put enough speakers all around my house so I can accurately reproduce the background hum of the Enterprise from Star Trek TNG. Ahh... soothing.

Of course, if I do that, it'll be necessary to have the doorbell be the 'Red Alert!' sound...

Waaaay OT:
I want to see what a ST TNG toilet looks like. That's part of the ship nobody has ever seen or discussed before. ~3,000 people on board and not one mention of waste disposal? I mean, we've all seen the inside of Jeffrey's Tube so why not the loo's? Do ya think the ship processes the waste and uses it for the replicator?

'Cap'n....the replicators are down again. My sammich tastes like Hidran sh*t!' Shocked

They did a special once hosted by Jonathan Frakes, when they showed a close up of the enterprise map in engineering there was only one ( ! ) toilet. THey did however have a Porche 911 on the display.

Now wouldn't it be nice to have Paramount re-master all the origional film to 1080P so geeks like us can do freeze frames and find that stuff?

Unless one get's a certain amount of physical gratification taking a dump (type that without laughing! Mr. Green ), I would hope that in the time ST:TNG takes place the need to poop & piss would have been replaced with something like a zero-residual diet. Seriously, I would hope to be spending less time using the toilet and more time f-ing around the universe.
