I wasn't aware that digital projectors could be repaired. Usually one weighes in so-called repair cost to simply disposing of the broken unit and buying another.
Sorry, you are probably not going to get much help on this CRT-centric website. Good luck!

Since the OSD works, I predict it's just operator error or cabling configuration. Slight chance that it could be a video input failure.
1) have you ever gotten a video image out of it?
(did it use to work with your current connections or has it always looked like that?)
2) which video input are you using?
The PG-M20X uses a funky DVI 1.0 input cable (and they did not come delivered with the projector) for component and RGB connections.
http://www.projectorcentral.com/sharp_m20x.htm
Also note that the DVI 1.0 doesn't handle copy guarded equipment.
3) hook up something using s-video... does it work?
4) there has got to be a better site than this one for troubleshooting d!%!#@| projectors
Small and it throws lots of light... only 1000:1 contrast. It might be fun for outdoor movies or if you don't have light control in your viewing area. 1024x768 so it's mangling 720p and 1080i.
CRT will easily give a better picture. But the question might depend more on your ability and your viewing room. From your inability to find a more appropriate place to look for help on that projector, I'm not too sure that CRT is for you.

I'm sure it is repairable. looks like the input section. i've never opened one so not sure how repair friendly it really is. I heard they are pretty much made "disposeable" and not intended to be repaired. I'd give it a shot though.
