Hello everybody ! Playing a lot of rétro games on crt, I finally bought a Sony vph 1271qm last year, and i’m using my time off to set it. First of all, it seems each tube has worked for 3000 hours, which, if it wasn’t reset, seems great. But i have 2 problems: cross pattern appears the first time i used it, months ago, but i can’t see it anymore. Second problem which seem more serious,
Green seem still very weak, almost yellow, and red very strong. I managed to get a good picture for 2 seconds, then it went back very red, as if it made a focus. Can somebody help me please ?

(Im French so my english can seem not really fluent. And crt projectors are very rare in France ahah)

If you adjusted the G2 controls where the focus controls are, then you need to get a service manual and reset them as per the manual. Those settings are critical for the AKB. If they are still set as per the factory, then you may have RGB driver board problems... or a tube may be weak, or changing parameters as it is warming up (that last one isn't very likely).

How are you adjusting the gains? In the menu?

I suspect that the G2 controls have been played with. That may or may not affect the test patterns as well. The Test pattern problem may be a second problem unrelated to the picture quality.

Officially I am out of the CRT business now for about 6 years, and have no more parts in stock.

It seems red g2 control was unbalanced compared to green and Blue. But I really don’t know why I can’t see test patterns Sad
