What made you choose that over (say) the Panasonic UB9000 which is around the same price (more or less)?

hi Kal

the panasonic is 2/3 the price of the reavon here in NZ (3700 for the Reavon, 2000 for the panasonic)

i chose the reavon because with the introduction of the magnetar players, Reavon is no longer perceived as cutting edge, so my local dealer heavily discounted it (to 2500).

The picture out of the Reavon is noticeably better, UNLESS you are using the HLG from the panny to feed a JVC - match made in heaven there.

Regardless, the audio from the reavon is also significantly better out of its single ended outputs, if you wanted to use it as a cd player for instance.

Lastly, the Reavon is multi region from the factory. (for blu-ray - as (almost) all UHD is region free)
