|
|
Hello,
After 5-10minutes my BG1209s displays no image for a few seconds. It repeats every 5 minutes and sometimes more often. After a while the projector shuts down automatically.
When it happens, there is a little crackling noise and I noticed that the red light on the G2 board is flashing.
This is maybe the same issue as I had here: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=42930.html. After having reseated the horizontal, vertical boards and move the yokes switches, it works fine for the next projection. But the after that, the issue appears again. I also tried to replace my horizontal board but it did not fix the problem. I have a spare board with yoke switches but no spare vertical board
Thanks for your help

The red light on the G2 board is scan fail. Get some contact cleaner and shoot it into the V position switch, but also check the H width trimpot on the SMPS. Those controls can get intermittent, also causing scan fail. Wiggle the trimpot control a bit side to side, making sure to put it back to where it was. It may be on the verge of scan fail as the components drift, so that trimpot may need to be set slightly CCW or CW from where it is now to stop the scan fail from happening.

Thanks Curt. I tried to put some contact cleaner on the yokes board switches. I also turn the H width trimpot of the SMPS board, but nothing changes. I then tried to use spare SMPS boards: same issue. With one of the spare, I had no "crackling" noises when the image went black and after a while the pj restarted by itself. I don't know what to do next. Any idea?
Thanks again for your help.

I removed the R762719 and R762720 which are linked by some white soldered wires. But I do not see any quad decoder board on the R762719 board as I can see in the Service Manual. So where my quad board can be located?
Thanks
