For a few days my marquee 9500 has been losing astigmatism on the sides, first it started to lose it on the right side, yesterday also on the left,
now, I enter the service menu, adjust the astigmatism again, save and exit, it works for a while, then suddenly it loses control.
I'm asking you experts what could cause this problem.

cordial greetings
Walter.

Hi,

maybe a battery issue or the astig board bad in some way ?

If you need one this might help you.

HI

thanks for the information, I will try to replace the "astig" board, I have a lot of spare parts with me.

the thing I noticed is that when I enter the astig settings from the service menu, I just need to make a small adjustment on the right and left side and everything immediately comes back into focus,
that is, it does not lose the numbers set for adjustment, it keeps them correct but it blurs completely,
so it's probably a control problem on the Astig board or some wrong voltage somewhere else... power supplies etc etc..

It's a shame because it works perfectly and makes an amazing image!!!

How are you doing with your "Barco Cine 9"?

Best regards

Walter.

Barco Reality 909 the best of the best

Today a friend came to visit me who is an expert in video projection, has known and sold VPRs for many years and over time has seen many of them and all the technologies,
currently accustomed to digital, he had forgotten how beautiful the image produced by "CRT" was
he was amazed and very happy with what he saw on the screen...
we saw "midway" on Netflix at 1080p so nothing superlative in terms of definition..
well what can I say, he loved it.

think that today the vpr had the problem of the astig on the blue and on the left side, but the image was equally wonderful...

I hope to solve it quickly but I have very little time...
Tomorrow I start working again after 2 weeks of vacation..

I'll let you know when I've resolved the problem.

Best wishes for a good 2024 with many fantastic projections Thumbs Up

Guys

This problem is known as "snap" phenomenon. You will need to change Control Board resistor R35; 3300 ohms surface mount as shown in this bulletin.

http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/ElectrohomeMarqueeTechnicalBulletin_TB97-04.pdf

If problem persists try another control board.

Cheers

Hi Tim,

I have now checked the value of the R35 resistor installed on the control board and it is already 3300 ohm so I assume that I will not have to replace it,

what do you think about it?

Guys

I have only seen a few snap problem control boards, yours is unusual, try another control board?

Hi Guys,

problem solved, I've been using the projector for a few days and it no longer has blur on the sides.

I solved the problem by cleaning the contacts between the "astig control" board and the CLM, I also checked and cleaned the contacts between the CLM and the motherboard, reassembled everything and turned on the projector and to my great happiness the problem disappeared 😀

I thank everyone for the support 👍

Regards

Walter.
