I'm reading this page: http://www.curtpalme.com/ChromaPure_iScanDuo.shtm

On that page it states:

"Progressive Cadence Detection™

Enables 24/48/72Hz and 25/50/75Hz output from film-based content at 480p, 576p, 720p and 1080p resolutions"

Does this mean I can get the iscan duo to output 1080p@72hz?

Thanks!

Not really. According to the user manual, 1080P@60Hz is max. output resolution.

The comment from the specs still holds true, but they should probably have a "*" at the end mentioning that "72Hz and 75Hz are not available at 1080p".

Got it! Thanks for the clarification, Kal.

Too bad the Duo can't handle this as I have one on hand. Guess I'll try to sell it and hope to find a VP50Pro. I've been trying to figure out a cheap solution to get 72hz into my new G90, but I have found that to be an impossible nut to crack.

Why not look for a Lumagen HDQ. That is supposed to do up to 120hz on the RGBHV analog output and some reviewers said they ran projectors at 72hz. Does a VP50pro do 72hz at 1080p? And what HDMI to analog converter are you using?

I'd obviously be happy with a lumagen at a good price and have a saved ebay search for that also. They just pop up infrequently and are incredibly expensive still. The vp50pro does do 1080p@72. I'm currently running hdmi into my DVI card through a simple converter.

But not any Lumagen just the HDQ which came out around 2006 and should be cheap if you can find one. I do not think any other one can do even HDMI 1080p/72 unless you go to the 4k radiance units. All the other Lumagens like the 20xx,21xx,xd,etc.. only do 1080p/60 from HDMI output. Good luck finding one. I am after the same thing for my Barco 1209s and Curt sold me his HDQ but I have not tested it yet.

HDQ doesn't do hdmi though, so a bit less than ideal in that regard, but yeah... Had a saved search on ebay for years and haven't seen a cheap HDQ ever.
