Hello I was recently given this projector and screen(Prodigy VPM 2000/Draper T-S-3-22146). Unfortunately I have been unable to find any information online about the company or projector. Im looking to use it for movies and the occasional retro game. Everything appears to be well taken care inside. It is currently setup for ceiling mount and I am unable to flip it I have tried turning the connections on the board 180 from ceiling to floor but I must be missing a switch or another plug because the image stays the same. The unit has an IR sensor but I fear the remote is long lost. Any information would be greatly appreciated I noticed Toshiba on the tubes so I was thinking this company purchased another brand and possibly changed out the logo.

hi and welcome to the forum!

I've never heard of that brand, my guess is that it is a rebranding but not sure who made the source unit. Maybe take a picture of the entire inside where we can see everything? You may see some other name brands and/or logos in there as well.

Toshiba made CRT tubes so it was common for manufacturers to use those. Though that said, Googling the tube model a bit it seems the AVB line may be from a consumer rear projection sets possibly or possibly a very old Panasonic analog CRT projector (PT-103 maybe?) or a unit from Maxivideo. Ive poked around inside the best I can but have had no luck finding any brand names other than Pioneer and Toshiba. The one silver switch displays a cross hair calibration pattern when set to the rear position the other two positions don't appear to do anything.

Thanks! Maybe someone will recognize the chassis / board layout from some other model.

Keep in mind that this is a 20+ (probably closer to 30+) year old analog setup projector that's going to be 480i only. You can tell it's analog setup from all the little pots inside for skew/bow/keystone/etc.

If you keep your eyes open you should be able to find a 7" CRT model for free that would be considerably better.

It's a Zenith PRO851. Bulletproof. I had one here about 25 years ago and sold it to a restaurant. 480i only though via composite video.

BTW, the Svideo may be worse than the composite. Zenith developed a large box to add to the PRO 851, and honestly, it was awful. Even the main local Zenith tech that worked for Zenith said so. Smile

If Pulsar developed their own, then you never know, but compare the two..
