Well, to the kids, rock and roll as we old farts know it, is dead. It's likely what our parents said about rock n roll, when they listened to country or big band.
I stopped watching the Grammys long ago. On my Facebook page, I've been listing a song a day that influenced me, or that I REALLY like. I started in 1961 with the first song I remember as a 3 year old (that's when the song came out), and am up to 1981 right now.
As they say, when people hit 40, their discovery of new music slows down dramatically. I've been trying to buck that trend, but I'm failing. New artists that I like:
-Phoebe Bridgers
-Post Malone
(it took a while to like Post, but listen to 'Stay', which is completely off the norm of his other stuff.)
Go listen to 'Funeral' by Phoebe Bridgers. If you don't want to jump off a bridge after listening, you have no soul.
