Guys,
I may install my Barco 7xx again and it can't do 1080p.
Does anyone know how I could run 1080i from the streaming apps? I have a 1080i cable box and a blu ray player and both worked great with the Barco 7xx before but with HBO max getting the WB movies I want to attempt it.
Thanks.

Hello
Having worked with several Roku devices, those detect the resolution capabilities of the displays via HDMI and set themselves for maximum, not sure if you can override. That is moot unless you have a Moome card or Moome outboard. An PC or iMac likely has selectable resolutions around VGA at 31khz; 1080i is 33khz so little difference. Might be easier to come out RGB for that. If you wish to punch up the RGB signal some, an Extron 202xi is great for that and likely can be found for cheep.

A scaler would be the logical choice. Stand alone, no driver issues. Something basic like and Extron DVS-304, VGA in at 1080p, and RGBHV out at 1080i.

Or a PC with semi decent gpu.
All of my Nvidia Quadro GPUs allow a lot of flexibility for custom resolutions.
I have a Quadro K5000m in my old workstation laptop and I sometimes use it for Netflix on my projectors as it lets you output it in any res and refresh rate via the analog RGB out without any HDCP related issues.
A scaler would obviously work too but I would personally consider it overkill for 1080i streaming as you don't need advanced algorithms to make a 1080p source look good in 1080i.
Plus, with it being a CRT projector, you can simply output lower res sources in native res without any scaling. IMO, the best scaling is no scaling.

Sorry for the slow response.
I use fire sticks but I could change.
I think I have the first gen external moome HDMI/DVI to RGBHV box with remote.
Curt sold me a Cine 7 barco that I have never used that might do 1080p but I have never tried. The other Barco 7xx I have is a late model Runco 947 I think that I know only does up to 720p.

Potentially you could go, Firestick(1080P)--HDMI-->Moome---VGA---->scaller-----RGBHV(1080i)------>projector
