I've had an HTC Vive VR headset sitting in my closet for at least 6 months that I brought home from the pawn shop. I didn't want to jack with the sensor stations so I never set it up. About a month ago we got an Ovulus Quest in the shop. That required no setup so I took it home. My grand kids initially loved it but quickly grew tired of it. Same for me. At first i was blown away but the novelty wore off quickly. Out of curiosity I set the Vive up. The kids seem to like it a lot better. I as well but I'm just not a gamer.

Eventually I'm going to upgrade to a Vive Pto and do a lens mod on it, or get a Valve Index. That will require at least a new video card and possibly a new CPU

I'm not much of a gamer either but my son got a Vive when he was living with me. I have to say Beat Saber is a hoot. The same concept as Guitar Hero -- targets scrolling towards you that you have to hit in time to the music -- but with a light saber in each hand. Fun, and can be a heck of a good workout too!

Other than Beat Saber though, I didn't see anything that made it worth messing with. My son tired of it pretty quickly too.

You hit on the problem with VR Gary. There's only a hand full of decent games. I seems that's partially due to the high resolution and high frame rate of VR headsets limits the games, but I bet its mostly due to VR's small market share, Almost al titles are by very small companies. The one exception is Half Life Alyx. I haven't bought it yet but youtube videos of game play look amazing.

We had a demo of Beat Saber on the Quest, The kids love it. That's this weeks purchase. Last week was Super Hot. Pistol Whip is another popular game that I'll get. But that's about it as far as I can tell. Hopefully more good games will start coming out.

I remember this stuff from back in the 90's. Virtual iGlassses comes to mind. Wonder how things compare to 1996?

Jeremy, pretty much everyone agrees the Valve Index is the best. It says 8 or more weeks backorder. I think its been that way for months. https://store.steampowered.com/valveindex
