Ever seen a white van LCD projector? I have! Found one at the recycler a couple of years ago. '1080p' was all over it, but the display was 640 X 480. Dimmer than a Sony Vidimagic (google that one!) Smile

It's not just white vans or similar, Amazon is full of sub-$100 projectors that say "1080p supported" that are only 480p native or even lower 320p in some cases: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?k=mini+projector&ref=nb_sb_noss_2&linkCode=ll2&tag=curtpalmecrtp-20&linkId=bffc07990136a1861cd02072e2b7984b&language=en_US

The internet's also full of useless "review" websites that talk about this junk projectors, with some of the reviewers even mentioning how great 1080p looks on them (slaps forehead).

Now this said, digitalayon is talking about screens (since he posted in the SCREENS forum) so I believe he's asking about this:

Sounds like they sell screen paint. Why they say it's 4K is pure marketing crap.

I ran into a guy peddling that crap in the parkinglot of a supermarket last year.....150 was his price and he included a "FREE" HDMI cable and power cord. I said 1080p HUh...I bought my laptop over to it and he ran off like he sh!t his pants.
