Hello everybody. I see on the Projector Specifications page these tubes are interchangeable between a few NEC models. Anyone know if that applies to a Sony G70 as well? Or what the difference between the tubes is? Thanks in advance.

They are interchangeable tubes, but the G2 is on a different pin on the tubes, the P16LJE07 (standard NEC XG tube) has the so called KH grid, which if properly used lowers the cathode capacitance (just like with LUG tubes) and is easier for the CRT amplifier to achieve better bandwidth with that. P16LJE08 (standard G70 tube) does not have this grid.

Thanks gjaky. I've found the pages covering the neckboard mod on the site with your help, didn't realise it had already been covered.
