Hey guys

So I while back I got the remotes. (Thanks curt) Smile

I've been getting the projector a little better every time I mess with it. I've also done a manual astig magnet adjustment on each tube and I've gotten that better too but it still needs work.

One problem I'm having is with the green tube (and blue too, I think). The projection is kind of warped a bit on the bottom right side and is much more out of focus. I can't seem to perfect it. I've adjusted the pots, lens, focus/astig software settings and tried following a tip I read somewhere to improve the edge focus by moving the yoke back a little bit so it isn't up against the tube. I'm pretty happy with everything so far but that corner is still bad. I was wondering if anyone would have any tips/ideas for what could be wrong?

And another problem I'm facing now and then is the green test patterns move horizontally a bit by itself. Not really jitter, it can move a little to the left and stay like it for a second or two and then jerk back. I don't think they were moving vertically. Any troubleshooting info on that would be great, I'm a bit worried something is failing...

I'm feeding it a 1280x720/60Hz signal. (1080P has lots of reflections/warping, I've read I need to use powerstrip to alter clock/timings?)

Thanks in advance and for all the help I've received so far. Smile

TV/Projector: All of them!

Look into the lens with sunglasses on, contrast at 100, and adjust the astig and focus that way. The lens flips the image so the bottom right on the screen is in the top left corner as looking into the lens. If the tube face is in focus, then it's the manual lens Scheimpflug adjustment that needs doing. That's covered in the manual.

The left/right movement is a dirty connection on the H yoke connectors. Sometimes swapping them cures that, otherwise grab a can of DeOxIt or other control cleaner, shoot a bit into the plastic connector, and move them on and off the H yoke pins a few times. That should cure that.

Thanks!

Image looks focused on the tube face. Smile

I think I got the green a bit better adjusting the Scheimpflug.

One thing I've noticed is to get the green image focused on the wall, the green focus pot is rotated all the way to one side. It's perfect in the center of the image but yeah, that isn't normal is it? This is with all electronic focus/astig set to zero.

And also the green and red tubes were always pretty well aligned when static convergence was all set to zero (and tubes angle set to 100 with the screw and projector is square to projection wall) but the blue was way off to the left. I've cancelled all the settings again while I have the lens out and the blue course cross pattern is just on the edge of the phosphor, which isn't good. Is there a manual way to fix that or does it need to be done in software? Issue is only with the blue tube with R/B angle set to 100 and projector square to wall. Sad

Worked out blue centering. Had to use service passcode. Smile

Still can't get rid of the sag/droop on the bottom right of the image though. Not sure what's going on at all...

Thanks again

When I have the two same tabs of the 2-Pole magnets lined up I have to have the horizontal raster centering for the blue tube set to -100% and it looks like it needs to be around -110%. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or something is wrong with the projector... But the other two are great.

Rotating the 2-Pole magnets seem to move it vertically a fair bit and a little bit horizontally.

As for the other two colours they aren't too bad after spending some time working on them but when following the guide, when I'm trying to get my round circle should that apply to the entire screen mostly or just the center region? I usually end up with triangles around the edges.

It doesn't help that blue is hard for me to see and my eyes have bad astigmatisms Mr. Green
