Hi forum, I have a 1270 that was working great but now shuts down a second or two after I press the power button. I really miss the pj. Any body have any ideas, I have a new fan that I have tried on the other fans but that hasn't helped. Hope someone can help. The cheep digital I have isn't cutting it. Thanks a lot . Tom .

Hi Tom,
Welcome to the forum.

Do you know how to take the top case off your 1270? Not just the panel around the controls but the whole top panel?

Not 100% sure on the 1270 but on allot of these models there's an error code read out on the side. You just need to take the case off to see it.

See this PDF: http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/Sony125x_127x_Error_Codes.pdf

TV/Projector: All of them!

the 1270 has no error code sadly, so it's a crapshoot where the problem is. There are ways to troubleshoot that, but if you're not a tech, you're stuck replacing boards.

Most likely boards: the two larges ones directly under the main top cover. I may have stock, and I'll sell them cheaply.
Check the fans first to make sure one hasn't seized.
