After days and several convergences I think I finally got my "new" VPH-1251 setup but I have some questions.
1. Am I using enough of the surface? There is really no way to use more without either getting a bigger screen or moving the projector closer correct? It is not an issue for the 16:9 screen to be offset up and down correct? Its not going to fill that way no matter what I do?
2. The counter shows approx 3,400 hours, is that always accurate or can that be reset? See attached pictures does everything look healthy? Is there any preventive maintenance that I can or should do to make this thing last?
3. Unless I am crazy the 1251 does not have toe-in or the spinning rings adjustments? That is just based on it being a lower spec model?
4. How long will this thing last, will I get another 5 - 10 years out of it or is that crazy talk?
Any help is appreciated thanks.

Based on the tube condition, 3400 hours sounds right. Nice score!
Setup looks good, a bit of zone correction on the red in the top right corner is needed.
There are no toe-in adjustments save for the metal lens/tube spacers. The spring thing was a mod done by someone on one of the forums, and we posted it here on the site years ago. Not really needed IMHO.
These sets are super reliable, the only thing that killed the one that I had in a karoke bar was a leak in the roof that rained right into the projector. It was their third or fourth CRT. 6 hours a night, 7 days a week, they wore the tubes in the first one or two out completely.

For $10 you did stupid good. I'd only suggest that you simply get it as good as you can and just enjoy the sh*t out of that projector. I wouldn't even think about longevity and just use it up. I wouldn't spend a red cent on it either. If you put so much hours on it to need retubing then you can decide then if you want to retube. But for now, just dial it in and enjoy.
