I have a Moome card that I am trying to squeeze a better range picture out of. Moome says to switch video signal range from 1.0V p-p to .7 p-p. I don't know where to look. I looked through the OSD and did not see and option so labeled. I don't have a 1209 service manual but the 1208 is similar and did not see an option there.

The only clear options for adjusting the picture I know of are "Contrast" and "Brightness" on the Barco 1209

Lastly, Moome asked me if the Port 3 input was set for RGB or RGBHV. I previously used analog in with RGBHV so I assumed that was the only option. It is possible to change that?

That switch would be o n the Moome card itself. Frankly I'd leave it at 1 volt.

Wow, that is interesting. I looked through the SW switches on the remote and did not see anything. I didn't think there were switches on the board and Moome kept asking me to find the .7V in the projector. So I hope we are all talking the same thing.

I just bought a Lumagen Radiance XE on eBay to replace my Lumagen Vision HDP. I am hoping that will help get me the wider range that I am seeking.

Are there jumpers on the moome card internally perhaps?

I am thinking that Curt was referring to the drive FROM the Moome card and Moome was referring to the input sensitivity in the projector. So 0 -1V p-p from the Moome card would be a wider range than .7V BUT if the input was expecting .7V p-p concevably that would drive the PJ harder...wider range? Possible.

I could be wrong, but I don't know of a 1v/.7v switch in the Barcos. Maybe I've never looked? Smile

So do you want to adjust the Moome card or the Barco?!?

On the Moome card, connect an oscilloscope to the GREEN output of the Moome card. Feed a 100 IRE window into the HDMI. Adjust the contrast control on the Moome card such that the p-p voltage between zero IRE and 100 IRE is 0.7 volts.

On Sony IFB's for G90's I always remove the gamma circuit and this changes the p-p voltage range. I have reset the p-p to 0.7 volts more times than I can remember on Moome boards.

Great advice but my Scope is broken, not sure I could get it to work well enough (old housemate brought it home so I could use for audio debug). The other problem is I don't have an extender card. I am getting a Radiance XE which I think has an IRE pattern I could use.

I have been working with Moome on the problem that the card does not seem to respond to the remote for gamma adjustments. He had me adjust one of the pots clockwise by 23 turns which may or may not be contrast but it brought the image out of the sludge. (see pic for before)

This is what I got without cranking up the Lumagen controls and before adjusting the pot on the board by 23 turns as per Moome.

I wasn't sure if it was an input or output spec. I am assuming now it is an output spec (on the Moome card) which would seem to specify a higher range of drive. If it were an input spec (in the Barco) it would specify sensitivity and then .7V would make sense.
